Japanese Sake Bag

Japanese Sake Bag

Sakabukuro, or sake straining bags, are beautiful boro textiles. Made of cotton saturated with green persimmon tannin which gives the distinctive brown color, this utilitarian textile was used in sake making. The weathered, leathery finish & hand mending reveal this well loved piece's rich history.
